It's Oskar's All About Your People Day

Today lots of my furiends are writing about their peoples and I thought I would join in and tell you about mine.
Nothing too exciting but it's our life and we luvs it!

Me and my mom and dad lives in Glenmont NY that's in the Town of Bethlehem in Albany County NY.

Here is Janelle and Tony, my mom and dad
(This picture was taken while they was on vacation in New Hampshire earlier this year)
Mom and dad met in the late 80's through a mutual friend and have been together ever since.
Dad was born and raised in Albany NY and has worked as a mechanic all his life.
His dad and his grandpa were also mechanics and dad now owns the business that has been in the family since 1919.  He is a very hard worker and an excellent mechanic. When you own your own business you work long hours but when mom and dad find time to go away together it is usually on their motorcycles. Dad has been riding for over 45 years, mom for about 6 years. They own 5 Harley Davidsons (4 for him 1 for mom) and keeps them in our garage.  Their favorite places to go are the New Hampshire and Maine coasts, both of them luvs the ocean!
Dad is an avid football fan and his favorite team is the ugh NY Giants.

Mom was born in Mankato Minnesota and as a child her family moved around a lot (due to her dad's job) before settling in NY.  After high school, she worked in a dental office for a while, went to college, then got a job at an Insurance Company where she worked for over 20 years but now due to the company going bankrupt because the owner did illegal stuff closing she is unemployed has "retired", but according to her, is busier than ever taking care of her mom and dad's dad and me of course. : )
Mom is very active in her church and likes to read in her spare time (loves her nook) and of course ride her Harley.  Mom does volunteer work at a homeless shelter and a health clinic in Albany, plus each summer spends a week at a children's camp in the Adirondacks Mountains of NY where she volunteers in the kitchen. Because dad works lots mom does travel without him sometimes, usually with her sisters and/or mom to visit family and friends.
She is also an avid football fan but her favorite team has and always will be the Minnesota Vikings!

Dad is an only child, his dad (grandpa) lives next door to us but his mom lives at a nursing home, she has Alzheimer's disease.  Mom's dad passed away 22 years ago but her mom (grandma) lives about 15 miles away from us. Mom has an older brother and two younger sisters that all live close by with their families.
Mom and dad don't have any two leggers of their own but mom has 3 nieces and a nephew that range in age from 8 to 17.  They loves those kids like they was their own and they likes to spoil thems. : )

I hopes that you has enjoyed learning something about my mom and dad.  Now I am going off to bloggie land to read about some of yours!

Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae

Oh my goodness they say beauty is skin deep but we see that you get your beauty DNA from your beautiful Parents!! Great picture of them too. We so enjoyed reading all the very interesting family information.

Oh my cats and dogs, my Dad could really use your Dad about right now. Dad's wheels had to go to the shop last night...break trouble...it needs a 100% break job..sounds like we'll be eating beanie weenies for a few months. MOL A good mechanic is a valuable acquaintance!!!

Kudos to your mom for all the good things she does. Mom admires her for riding a Harley. We have one Harley in our family...my humans Sister's kitty is named Harley.

I guess we should have participated in this post but Mom prepares her week's post on Saturday then sets them for auto post. When she retires on 4/1/2011 she will be more flexible.

FYI. Mom is on vacation today whoopee..hugs and snuggles Madi

  13. Your Mom and Dad sound like pawsome people, Maggie Mae! Tell Dad that the Giants are our family's football team, too. It was Daddy's Dad's favorite and so on.

Blog Mom loves Albany, NY! Not just the surrounding countryside, which is beautiful, she loves the city. She says parts of it feel ike being in her hometown of New York City, but in a more manageable size. If she could move, Albany would be her #1 choice. Of course, you do have more winter than we do, most years.

Thanks for sharing all that. We weren't going to do this, but we'll see. Maybe we'll see if we can put something together.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  35. Hi Maggie Mae - we've swung on by from Oskar's blog, isn't this a great game that he came up with?! Your sure landed yourself a real wonderful couple of humans to live with. We love their smiles - we really notice the smiles of humans, we're not fans of the grumpy variety and will sometimes bark at them to show our disapproval, he he he! We really enjoyed getting to know about your humans and a pal of ours is quite envious that your people have a total of 6 harleys - he has one and it's his pride and joy!
