Happy Thanksgiving and The Story of Me

Hello Everybodys and Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is my story...

In October 2008 my big sissy Samantha crossed over da Rainbow Bridge
Samantha Rae
March 18, 1996-October 22, 2008
Here her is, wasn't her beootiful?

Mom and dad was VERY sad after losing Samantha and told EVERYBODYS that they was never EVER gonna gets another puppy, but all of their family and friends knew that they had too much love to share and  it would only be a matter of time before they changed their minds.
Of course they was right because after 8.7 weeks, mom and dad started wanting another boxer puppy.
But since my big sissy Samantha came from a "backyard" breeder and had lots of health problems mom and dad decided they meaning my mom would do some research and gets their next puppy from a reputable and established breeder who screened their animals for known health issues in the breed.  So mom started surfing the net and harassing lots of peoples making phone calls but none of the breeders her talked to wanted to sell them a flashy, fawn  female puppy as just a pet, they all wanted to "co-own" da puppy and when it gots older, be able to breed and show it in the ring.
This was not what mom and dad wanted to do so her kept looking.
Then one day mom called Pheasant Hollow Boxers and was told by them that one of the pups, that would be me, from one of their latest  litters had a crooked tail AND could not be shown in the ring AND was a flashy fawn female AND they were willing to sell as a pet.

They sent mom this picture...

Aww...can you say luv at first sight?
Anyhoo...after seeing my picture mom and dad called them back and said they would be down the next day to meet me in "da furs".

Well of course after meeting me in "da furs", mom and dad wanted me as their very own, but I was too young to leaves my fur mom so until I was old enough to come home mom and dad drove down to visit me.

  7. Thank goodness those showy dog competitions are so strict. Little PeeWee got to come and be my brother because he has an overbite. Doesn't seem to slow down his chow time much. Me? I could have finished, but they already had two big boy showy dogs from the litter so they agreed to let momma and master take me home to be a companion dog. My lucky day for sure.

Happy Turkey day. I will be over later to put your head in my mouth.

  34. Awwwww...what a wonderful story, Maggie Mae! I think your mom did a super terrific thing by researching really good breeders. Those backyard breeders sure do cause lotsa heartache. I'm so very much glad that your mom found you and that you were born with a crooked tail. Cuz even though your tail might not have been pawfect enough for the show ring, you were absolutely pawfect for your mom and dad!

Hope you had a most happy Thanksgiving!

  47. We're so glad you have such a happy story! Samantha was a beautifu girl, so no wonder your pawrents wanted another one and picked you. Abby doesn't understand about the crooked tail, as they obviously docked your tail [which we sincerely hope you do not remember having done]. But it sure worked out for the best.
