Happy Sunday Everybodys!
Mom has been super duper busy fur da past few days so we hasn't been able to visit wif many of you, hopefully after this week things will quiet down fur her. PLUS Blogger is still not behavin' fur us so we haven't been able to comment on some of your blogs either. My furiends list is STILL missin', who know when it will be back!
Anyhoo, busy as mom has been her promised me dat we would not miss out on...
this weekend so we is "recycling" parts of a post from da past!
Mom is also an avid football fan but her favorite team has and always will be the Minnesota Vikings!
Here is Janelle and Tony, my mom and dad
(This picture was taken while they was on vacation in New Hampshire)
Mom and dad met in the late 80's through a mutual friend and have been together ever since.
Dad was born and raised in Albany NY and has worked as a mechanic all his life.
His dad and his grandpa were also mechanics and dad now owns the business that has been in the family since 1919. He is a very hard worker and an excellent mechanic. When you own your own business you work long hours but when mom and dad find time to go away together it is usually on their motorcycles. Dad has been riding for over 45 years, mom for about 6 years. They own 5 Harley Davidsons (4 for him 1 for mom) and keeps them in our garage. Their favorite places to go are the New Hampshire and Maine coasts, both of them luvs the ocean!
Dad is an avid football fan and his favorite team is the NY Giants.
Mom was born in Mankato Minnesota and as a child her family moved around a lot (due to her dad's job) before settling in NY. After high school, she worked in a dental office for a while, went to college, then got a job at an Insurance Company where she worked for over 20 years but now due to the company going bankrupt because the owner did illegal stuff closing she is unemployed has "retired", but according to her, is busier than ever taking care of her mom and dad's dad and me of course. : )
Mom is very active in her church and likes to read in her spare time (loves her nook) and of course ride da Harley. Mom does volunteer work at a homeless shelter and a health clinic in Albany, plus each summer spends a week at a children's camp in the Adirondack Mountains of NY where she volunteers in the kitchen. Because dad works lots mom does travel without him sometimes, usually with her sisters and/or mom to visit family and friends.
Dad is an only child, his dad (grandpa) lives next door to us but his mom lives at a nursing home, she has Alzheimer's disease. Mom's dad passed away 22 years ago but her mom (grandma) lives about 15 miles away from us. Mom has an older brother and two younger sisters that all live close by with their families.
Mom and dad don't have any two leggers of their own but mom has 3 nieces and a nephew that range in age from 8 to 18. They loves those kids like they was their own and they likes to spoil them too. : )
Have a wonderful and safe holiday!
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae

You could all go fur grrrreat rides with her Uncle Tommy the Harley Guy and do grrrrreat stuffs together. YEP.. your dad needs to get you a side car!! You need a chance to feel the wind in your furs!!
ReplyDeleteHey Maggie Mae!
ReplyDeleteWow, your P.O.P. story is really fun! I agree with Frankie that you need a side car so you can be a Biker Mamma! Being a mechanic is very important hard work...gotta keep those rides going! I like that your mom is retired so she can spend the required quality time with you. We're football fans here to, but I gotta say...
"GO STEELERS" ahem.
Thanks for pawticipating so we can all read about your peeps. You're a great furiend!

We loved learning more about your peeps, Maggie Mae. Happy Sunday and love to all of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your peeps with us, Maggie Mae! They both sure are busy. My mom likes the Maine coast, too. I am so sorry about your grandmother with Alzheimer's - that's so rough! My mom has an Aunt who was just moved to a facility because of Alzheimer's - so very sad!
ReplyDeleteWe also have an 87 year old car that Papa is determined to drive until it dies. If you lived closer, maybe I could bring it to your dad and he could make it disappear. Mama and I are both pretty sick of it! BOL!
Your pal, Pip
Maggie Mae thank you for the most wonderful post about your precious Mom and Dad!! They are indeed very busy. OMC kudos to your Dad for keeping the family legacy and business up and running for ao long. Give him a high five from us.
ReplyDeleteHugs Madi and Mom
Great sharing, Maggie Mae. You have really cool peeps. They need to get one of those sidecars for one of the cycles so you can go for a ride with them - bet that would be lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday.

I loved learning about your parents, Maggie Mae. They sound super-cool. Do you have a sidecar for a Harley? We saw two dogs in a sidecar once, and they were truly wearing goggles and scarves! We laughed and laughed... and hoped that they were wearing seatbelts too!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you peeps. Momma and Lily love your Paw cause he is a NY Giants fan..
