Our Absence

Hello Everybodys,

Mom and me have not been around much over the past few weeks, things have been going on in our lives that need our attention but while mom has a few minutes to spare today her is letting you know what has and still is happening. I will let mom take over from here:

Hello my friends,

The past few weeks have been very difficult for me and my family. In addition to the bathroom/pantry remodeling project that is still ongoing at our house my immediate family has been dealing with a major medical crisis that involves an extended family member. Without going into too much detail I will try and explain what has been going on.

Two months ago my niece's godmother Ann(a very dear friend) had double organ transplant surgery at a hospital in NYC. Within a week after her surgery, complications arose.  For these past few weeks I have been part of a support group for her and her husband.  We are making sure that someone is in NYC with Paul all the time to make sure he is taking care of himself and to give them both the support and love they deserve.

Despite the excellent care Ann has received, the emergency operations, complications and infections seem to be too much for her to overcome. She is still with us, fighting as hard as she can but her body cannot take another surgery so from now on she will only receive care to keep her comfortable and pain free. The news of this has been devastating to all of us but we are still praying for a miracle because that is what we need for her to pull through.

Needless to say, blogging has not been a priority for me lately. I hope that all of you will keep Ann and Paul in your thoughts and prayers.

Blessings,
Janelle and Maggie Mae

    Father,
Please wrap your loving arms around Ann and give her your strength and comfort during this difficult. Also, watch over Paul, let him feel your love and guidance while he is at Ann's side. I ask you to remember Janelle, her family and Maggie Mae, during this time of uncertainty. Give them peace of heart, that can only come from your love.
Please give the Doctor's the wisdom, and expertise, to care for Ann, and her nurses the knowledge, compassion and gentle touch that the family needs during this difficult time.
In Your Glorious Name we pray,
    Amen

  30. That is unimaginably bad news for you. I will keep your friend in my thoughts that she will be comfortable and stay with you or pass on, whichever is her time. This must be all consuming for you. I applaud you sharing with us. Hopefully our collective good thoughts will help you through this difficult time.
