Rescue Me Week Day 4

Hello Everybody!

Day 4 of Mayzie's Amazing Rescue Me Week allows me and mom to introduce you to another wunderful and BIG new furiend in need of a furever home.
Meet Happy the Appy!
Happy is an Appaloosa, mom has always luved deese kind of horses.
Happy is very handsome, don't you agree?
Happy is in his early 20's and still has lots of life and rides left in him. He has been handled by children on the grounds and is very willing to go under saddle.  Since Happy is a retired gaming horse he would be perfect for an older child or adult rider who would like to do some weekend fun shows or even just hit the trail.
You can read lots more 'bout Happy

Happy is located at da
Double L Stable Equine Center and Sanctuary in upstate NY
Double L is a sanctuary first and foremost for the equines of the northeast that need a safe place to live.We deal with abuse, neglect, slaughter-bound, ex-racers, and other 'unwanted' or 'at risk' equines. We are a 25 acre 18 stall facility with lots of open pasture for the horses to run. Each horse is provided its own stall for eating and sleeping and staying out of the bad weather. We got our start with the PaSPCA in the 90's in Lancaster co. Pa and then moved the entire barn to the Adirondack region of upstate New York. The move was made to be able to enlarge the sanctuary as well as the retirement portion of the stable. We still will take in rescues for the PSPCA when called on as well as working with local law enforcement. We also work with a few other rescues to broaden the adoption area for their equines.

Hopefully Happy won't have to wait too much longer to find his furever home.

Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae

  9. Gosh, we are so glad we came to look at this. Our Mom loves horses and did not know about this place. That sure sounds like a wonderful place to take in horses of all kinds and help them find a home. Those a little bit older horses are worth their weight in gold. They can teach anyone how to ride and are so safe. Take care Maggie and family.

  15. Happy is one GAWJUSS horsie! Did you know my Angel Donna Fostermommy had horsies and I liked being around them. But mom says our Aych-oh-ay (whatever that is) won't let us HAVE horses! Most Unreasonable, if you asks me.

Paws are crossed and pawerful brindle vibes coming for Happy to live Happy-ly Ever After in his very own home!

    Wiggles & Wags,

  16. Happy is so pretty! I've always loved horses, but there's no room around here to have one. There's a few stables, but there's hardly ever any space available. We hope Happy finds a nice place soon!
