It's Just An Old Flannel Sheet

It's just an old flannel sheet...
That was cut into sections 16 years ago so each puppy leaving for their new forever home would have the scent of their mother to take with them...

It's just an old flannel sheet...
That came home with our sister Samantha and helped comfort her during the first few nights with mom and dad...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That mom washed and put away soon after Samantha's arrival, to keep it safe from a teething puppy...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That mom pulled out years later, to comfort Samantha again, when she spent occasional nights away from home, her body starting to fail...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That was wrapped around Samantha when she crossed over the rainbow bridge, cradled in our mother's arms...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That was put away again, a treasured memory of an amazing dog...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That means so much to us, because it is a reminder of our beautiful sister...

It's just an old flannel sheet...
That a section from will be part of a memory quilt being made for Sandra and her family, to help them heal from their devastating loss...
It's just an old flannel sheet...
That is filled with memories, blessings and love
Max and Maggie Mae

I've decided to share a bit of a sheet too. And possibly a bit of one of the shirt's that Chico's previous owner gave me, if I can cut off enough material from it.

It is amazing when we sit and think how ( in your case) an old flannel sheet and ( in my case ) an old pink blankie can hold so many precious & treasured memories isn't ?Yet another perfect square for the Fearless Fives quilt.
