World SMILE Day 2012

Hello Everybody! 

Today is a special day, it is:

World SMILE Day

As is well known by now throughout the world Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.

As the years passed Harvey Ball became concerned about the over-commercialization of his symbol, and how its original meaning and intent had become lost in the constant repetition of the marketplace.  Out of that concern came his idea for World Smile Day®. He thought that we, all of us, should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout the world.  The smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion.  Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we.  He declared that the first Friday in October each year would henceforth be World Smile Day®. Ever since that first World Smile Day® held in 1999, it has continued every year in Smiley's hometown of Worcester, MA and around the world.

After Harvey died in 2001, the Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was created to honor his name and memory.  The Foundation continues as the official sponsor of World Smile Day® each year.

The Random Picture Series #1

Hello Everybodys!

As some of you may all ready know my mom's flashy beast camera died last week Yay!  Dis has made my life much easier but it is most upsetting to my mom cuz her LUVS to stick da flashy beast in my face all da time take pictures of me and shares dem wif all of you. So until her gets a new flashy beast..ugh  camera, mom has decided dat she is gonna just choose from one of  da 87 million pictures she has of me  a random picture of me and have me tells you what I wuz doin' when she took it. 

We will now refer to dis as 

"The Random Picture Series"

Dis picture was taken back in August and DUH mom I was eatin' cookies off of da floor! 

But deese weren't ordinary cookies, dey came from my good furiend Sugar and dey was MOST yummy!

Today is a very special day cuz it is my good furiend Sugar's 9th Barkday! 

Isn't she Beootifuls??

 Sugar has lots of furiends but just in case you don't know hers yet, please go visit hers today and wish hers a Happy Barkday!

She is also a famous dog cuz she is the June WCIU Top Dog Winner!

Sugar has asked all of her furiends to let her know how they is going to be celebrating her barkday today and then link their bloggie to her bloggie! Isn't that just too easy or what!!

I thinks this is what I am going to be doing most of the day.

It is suppose to be another hot and hoomid day again today, but I will be thinking of you Sugar!

Then when I wakes up mom will gives me a Gruffins treat to eats to celebrate your barkday!
